5 Ninja Moves That Make Obstacles Easier

Whether you’re visiting our Colchester indoor obstacle course for the first time or trying to improve your performance and challenge yourself, familiarising yourself with a few ninja moves can make a huge difference.

At Ultimate Ninja UK, we see visitors of all ages discover that completing obstacles requires precise movement, balance, timing, and confidence, rather than just strength.

If you want to conquer more of our obstacles, boost your agility, and maybe even finally beat the iconic Warped Wall, these five ninja moves will help make every challenge feel a little easier.

  1. The Precision Jump

Many ninja obstacles involve jumping between unstable surfaces, narrow beams, or platforms, and precision jumping helps you to improve your balance and coordination.

Controlled movement is important here, and you should focus on landing softly with bent knees while keeping your eyes fixed on the landing point. Swinging your arms forward during the jump also helps with balance and momentum.

Practising precision jumps can improve confidence on elevated obstacles and reduce hesitation on the course.

  1. The Lache Swing

A lache is a swinging movement used in free running, parkour, and ninja training to travel between bars or rings. It’s a signature ninja move that combines grip strength, rhythm, and timing.

The trick with the lache swing is to build momentum through controlled swinging. This generates power from your hips instead of just your arms which helps conserve energy and creates smoother transitions.

At Ultimate Ninja UK, overhead obstacles challenge both beginners and experienced ninjas to develop better swing control.

  1. The Spider Climb

The Spider Climb uses opposing pressure between your hands and feet to climb vertical spaces. This move is excellent for improving coordination and body awareness.

Instead of pulling upwards constantly with your arms, push through your legs while keeping tension across your body. Efficient climbers distribute their weight evenly and move steadily rather than rushing.

This technique is especially useful when tackling our Spider Wall and other narrow climbing obstacles.

  1. The Balance Walk

Balance obstacles often look easier than they actually are, and one wrong movement can quickly throw you off course.

The best ninja athletes keep their knees slightly bent and their core engaged while focusing on a fixed point ahead instead of looking down. Slow, controlled steps are far more effective than rushing.

Improving balance helps on beams but also improves overall obstacle performance and control.

  1. The Wall Run

The Wall Run is one of the most exciting ninja techniques and is essential for conquering warped walls. Success comes from explosive leg drive and proper foot placement rather than force alone.

Approach the wall with speed, plant one foot firmly onto the wall, and drive upward while reaching high with both hands. Consistent practice helps improve timing and confidence.

At Ultimate Ninja UK, visitors can test these ninja techniques across more than 20 exciting obstacles designed to challenge agility, endurance, and coordination.

Whether you’re training to improve your fitness or looking for a fun activity with friends or family, learning these moves can help you enjoy the course even more. Book your Ultimate Ninja UK session today.
